While I think the giver should tailor the gift to the receiver, the receiver should accept the gift gladly. My kids are still pysched and there are still many new toys to play with. hehe.

I agree - when you release a new novel or story, it's like Christmas and it's a nice feeling. My father was always glad to get it out of the way, too, but Mom never allowed the tree down until after the New Year. We do the same. Gifts can stay in the living room as long as they're under the tree and not all over the floor. ;-)

Happy noveling this year!LK Hunsakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10706929624587891992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5350339348313810194.post-17622416174033428962009-12-26T13:16:24.387+00:002009-12-26T13:16:24.387+00:00LORAINE--ahh, someone else who loves the day after...LORAINE--ahh, someone else who loves the day after Christmas. I believe many people feel this way. I do, and I always remember my daddy who couldn't wait for everything to be over and out of the house. He took out the tree Christmas day if Mother let him. I enjoy the 26th for the reason you say--a day to savor our gifts, and a day to do nothing if we wanted--a free day. This is a very thoughtful piece, and I enjoyed it very much. Now, back to work on that special gift I hope others will like--another novel!
