One of the most difficult things I've discovered about getting published is the act of promoting myself and my work. I find myself struggling to come up with ideas on contests and where to list them or where to go to blog about my books. I must say, I'm learning everything from my fellow authors. I've made a few friends from my Siren group on facebook and I've found my name of a couple of their websites- which is so surprising but fantastic (I hope to reciprocate soon)! The few links I've gotten and have posted, are wonderful, and I have to give a big thanks to Lindsay for inviting me to her blog. But trying to keep it all straight is like swimming in tar. I know as I go on it'll get easier to navigate, but it's just so much to learn at one time, as I'm sure all of you know.
Thanks!
Beth

Beth, so true. I keep thinking there must be a better way. Though, I have no clue what it would be.
I try to do the type of promo I enjoy most, even if it isn't the most effective.
Congratulations, Beth, on your releases and on your intro post to Lindsay's Romantics! It's wonderful to have you here!
I huge welcome to you and the other neew members - it's wonderful and exciting and I can't wait to see and read more posts!
HAPPY EASTER/HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND ALL AT LINDSAY'S ROMANTICS!
It depends on whether you write category romance or single title. A single title writer, and I'm one, I write in several genres, needs to gain name recognition rather than promoting a title. I'm not sure contests are very effective. Blogging is the best tool for a writer to become known I've heard. HAPPY EASTER.

Thanks Maggie. That's a great idea. I'm trying to do more blogging and visiting other writers sites. :-)
beth, this is the big problem most of us have. Promoting is not easy and coming up with new ideas to do so can be hard.good luck!
